Last year Garin’s Peasants of Eden were placed second in the national final of RockQuest – but lost lead guitar Caleb Nott who is now in Melbourne studying music.
Returning were Joseph Corban-Banks, Chris and Abbey Phillips, and Georgia Nott – and of course Garin’s music supremo Kyle Proffit.
Another band might have retrenched, but instead the Peasants went looking for a bigger sound, adding Holly Tippler on keyboards and vocals, Rupert Wockner on bass and Clark Hinton on lead guitar.
And it worked!
The band gave an impeccable live performance and are excited about moving on to the next stage of the competition where they will be recording a live video performance that will go forward to the judges who will decide who goes into the national final in Hamilton in September.
