On Tuesday the 15th of May Garin College participated in the 20th Stage Challenge event. It was a first for Garin, quite literally, as we finally took out the coveted golden CD. The tremendous effort; the epic enthusiasm that the team had upheld since early in Term 1 paid off. Garin faced tough competition in the form of the daring Nelson Colleges’ combined entry and the fresh Golden Bay High entry, but our tight moves and slick story prevailed. Other schools such as Bohally Intermediate, St Joseph’s, and Takaka Primary also had exceptional performances. Our story followed the flow of money, and how money can so easily change an individual. On behalf of the leaders, I would like to thank our amazing sponsors (of whom without we could not have created our show), champion stage crew and make-up/hair team, lighting, sound, student co-host, video director’s assistant, photographer, as well as the dedicated plethora of teachers and parents. It is impossible to express our gratitude for your contribution. And, of course, the performers. You were and are all wonderful.
