Year 12 Journey Program

Year 12's headed out to the Moutere Valley and the Abel Tasman National Park on their 2017 Journey during week 10 Term 4. The programme this year was action packed with students being asked to challenge themselves on a range of outdoor activities including high ropes courses, mountain biking, sea kayaking and sleeping under fly sheets. The weather played its part for the most part as the students reflected on the leadership qualities they all have that can be shared with our community next year as Year 13's. Our students having these valuable opportunities to extend their comfort zones whilst reflecting on who they are and what they have to offer is an important contributor to their personal and spiritual development. All of the instructors from Whenua Iti Outdoors were blown away by the engagement levels of Garin College's future leaders and made particular mention of the students' insatiable desire to test themselves in the face of adversity. Many thanks to Mr Stock for all of his hard work behind the scenes and the teachers that attended. Without them these opportunities would not be available
