This week is the very first Aotearoa NZ School Library Week, and our library is joining in the celebration of all that school libraries bring to our tamariki. There will be competitions and activities every day in the library, and on Thursday we are welcoming author & storyteller Mona Williams to perform for two year 9 classes.
Students are busy trying to work out what fairy tales & classic stories are depicted in these minimalist posters, and at lunchtime there is a scavenger hunt going on. Mrs Ditzel (aka The Cat in the Hat) is also busy recommending books for specific readers – the right book in the right hands at the right time is key to reading success, and school librarians are the ‘book experts’ to make that important connection.
