Pink Shirt day

May 26, 2022

Kia ora everyone,

On Thursday last week we celebrated Pink Shirt day, We had a mufti day, a bake sale and other fun activities around the college. We raised $403.40 for the Mental Health Foundation and we had some really good kōrero around bullying.

If you or a friend are ever struggling with being treated in a way that is not okay with you, remember boundaries can be a really good thing. If you see bullying happening around you, do not be a bystander. Bullying does not align with our Garin Values of Generosity, Aroha, Rangimarie, Integrity or New life. The social/whānau element of te whare tapa wha is really important, so build that up for yourself and others – wherever and whenever you can.

Kōrero mai, kōrero atu, mauri tū, mauri ora – Stand up, speak together, and stop bullying.

Also remember to reach out for help, or get support  through our team, your dean, or any other member of staff if you need it.

He waka eke noa – we are all in this together.

Here are some pictures from Pink Shirt Day 2022, with thanks to everyone who made it awesome!

Have a great weekend from the Te Wahi Hauora Team
