Lauren O’Grady – selected to compete for Nelson Rowing Club at NZ Nationals
Lauren had a fantastic regatta and was a wonderful representative for the club. In the Womens Novice Coxed Four her crew placed 5th in the A Final which was a great result, but undoubtedly the highlight was winning bronze in the Womens Novice Coxed Eight. Lauren competed with three other rowers and a cox from Nelson and combined with four rowers from Tauranga Rowing Club to form a composite team. The Nelson rowers were coached by Kylie Johnson and the Tauranga rowers were coached by Kylie’s dad Jeff – so this was a pretty special moment for the crew! In addition, Nelson crews won a further two gold medals, a silver and another bronze so it was a great regatta for the club!
