Noah Johnson – National under 17 Boys Cyclocross Champion
Congratulations to Year 10 student, Noah Johnson, winning an epic battle between three riders who broke away from the rest of the pack. All three of them crashed a number of times and dropped their chains in the
very slippery muddy conditions.
The lead changed every lap between the three of them. Noah attacked 25 minutes into the 40 minute race which dropped one competitor leaving just 2 of them battling for the lead.
Noah attacked on the last lap putting a large gap between him and the other competitor. As they entered the final straight there was about 10 metres between them; Noah sprinted and the other competitor was left behind. Noah crossed the line with his hands raised in celebration. He was interviewed live straight afterward, still in disbelief at what he had achieved- his first gold and a national title.
