Congratulations to Year 10 student, Sophie Pahl, who competed at the recent Banana Boat Ocean Swim Series – La Grand Swim event at Akaroa. Sophie entered the 12 – 14 year old category and claimed gold! Also, Sophie represented Garin College in the Makos NZ Secondary Schools Open Water Swimming Championships, where she placed 3rd in the  14 – 15 year old category. Well done on these awesome results Sophie!

Congratulations to Year 10 student Hector McNeilly, who competed at the Mainland Muster archery competition held in Christchurch in January and achieved two golds and a personal best in the 1440 event. Hector followed this up with a 1st placing overall at a major ADAA event held in Auckland, were he achieved three golds and a personal best in the 72- event. Awesome results Hector, well done!

Congratulations to Sarah Rankin, who was recently presented with the Nelson Netball Centre Service Award for services to netball in our community. The award was presented at the Nelson Netball Centre AGM, which was held in February. This is a prestigious award with rigorous criteria, including a minimum of 10 years service to netball in the Nelson community covering a range of aspects, such as coaching, player development, governance and leadership. Sarah was the only recipient of an award at the AGM, which was presented to her by members of the awards committee and Nelson Netball Centre Manager, Leigh Gibbs. Well done Sarah on this richly deserved award!
