Kia ora Garin whānau
I hope that everyone is doing okay.
Right now things might seem a bit weird, with things being cancelled, people isolating, and some people getting sick.
Just a reminder, that we are facing times that none of us have experienced before, and tough times impact us all differently.
It is okay to be feeling tired, or a bit weird. It’s okay to be not okay, but it is also okay to be totally okay. Whatever you are feeling is valid! If you are feeling a little bit lost, or in need of some support, remember you can touch base with the counselling team anytime. Send an email to katesheldon@cloud.garincollege.ac.nz and I can set you up with one of our counselling team, or alternatively fill out the online referral form here. You can get any member of staff, or a friend or family member to refer you too. Alternatively here is a link to some Covid19 Health and Wellbeing resources.
Remember, we all deal with stuff differently, so be kind to others, regardless as to whether or not they are responding the way you are.
In addition – on Monday we are running a coping with Anxieties workshop at 1pm in the sacred space. You can find the sign up on the intranet page (our landing page). We ask that you eat your lunch outside before attending.
Lastly – sign up is up for our Student Hauora Committee, you can find that on the intranet page too. Great if you have some ideas for Hauora at Garin, we are big on student voice!
Again, we are all in this together, please do sing out if you need anything.
Ngā mihi
Kate the Counsellor
