All St Paul‟s Year 7 students went on a field trip to Natureland on 19 February to gather research for their Digital and Fashion Design Technology projects they will do during Term 1. They gathered information relating to physical characteristic of animals which will be used to design and develop a Hottie. This project will introduce them to gaining skills using the sewing machine. They also explored the layout of paths and location of animal exhibits to help in the development of a board game which will represent the zoo and function using Boolean logic which is considered a core skill in computational thinking. The trip provided a marvelous opportunity for Garin staff to get to know the group who were so excited and curious about the animals. Their behavior was impeccable and thanks to the support of St Paul‟s staff the trip was considered a success and will be run every year in support of Technology projects.
