Introducing – Michael Parr
Kia Ora,
I have recently moved to Nelson with my wife, Karla, 8 year old daughter, Freya and 6 year old son, Jasper. This move has been a long time in the making and we are all really excited to be able to call the ‘top of the south’ our home. Thank you to the Garin community and students for being so welcoming and supportive over these initial weeks.
I am joining Garin College as Head of Faculty – Physical Education and Health. Previously, I have held this role in both the UK and international schools and it’s fair to say that I love my job.
Some things I value are humility, integrity, respect and being part of a team. This is a big reason why the Garin College community really appeals to me. I emphasise purpose and relationships in my teaching and I believe that every Garin student will grow as a person, through their involvement in Physical Education and Health.
