On Thursday 26 September Mrs Ditzel took 2 teams of year 9 students to compete in the annual Top of the South Readers Cup event hosted at Nayland College. This is the second year that the librarians in the area have run this event, which is a quiz on 6 specific books that the students read in advance. Thanks to generous sponsorship, every member of the 13 teams competing took home at least one new book, and many took home more! The students commented: We went to Readers Cup. It was an interesting experience. I was not at all what I expected but it was fun. It was only the second Readers Cup event but there were lots of schools there. It was a fun, enjoyable experience. Everyone was very friendly & helpful. Great teamwork! Our 2 teams were the Power Ranger Bystanders & The Crayons. I really enjoyed it. It was a great experience. We may not have come first but we had plenty of fun. It was a lot of fun and I wish we could go again next year.
