It was a wonderful feeling Wednesday night to be able to open up the Amphitheatre and once again share some amazing musical performances by Garin Students with our community. In true Garin spirit, students volunteered to help setup, work the sound desk and even cook the barbeque. A great start to celebrating the Arts for our 2021 Arts Captains and new music teacher Liam Muir. We had a wonderful assortment of acts both covers and original compositions, by students from Year 9 to Year 13. They ranged from a violin virtuoso by Theo Parker to a delightful piano duet by Yukino Sato and Saeka Kaneko to students air guitaring it along with Thomas Carney. The highlights of the evening had to be Andre and Kelli’s performance of Summer Nights and Mr Maguire’s acoustic rendition of Sandman by America. The lovely thing about Twilight Notes is that it provides the opportunity for all Garin students to share their musical talents, as Mr Maguire said “it’s about having a go”. The night was rounded off beautifully with Susannah Sam’s singing Lord I need you by Matt Mayer.
